| The hotel BlueBay Villas Doradas in Puerto Plata, which is only for the over 18s, is an ideal place for couples to relax or enjoy their honeymoon or wedding. Its location - literally next to the 18-hole Playa Dorada golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones – makes it a favourite among golfers.
The hotel’s rooms and suites are equipped to the highest standard, in keeping with the quality of the resort and its recent refurbishment – all include cable TV, mini bars and ironing facilities. On-site facilities include 3 pools, 3 tennis courts, a volleyball court, a gym, a spa with jacuzzi, sauna and further offers of beauty treatment and a wireless lan internet corner. The hotel’s restaurants are renown for the quality of their international cuisine, which amongst others include specialist seafood and oriental dishes.
This resort in Puerto Plata is especially popular for couples either getting married, recently married or just looking for an excuse to chill out and relax - maybe one spouse enjoys the golf course while the other relaxes in the hotel spa! The hotel has its own golf shop.
The hotel is situated on the seafront next to a long beach and the local area is buzzing with things to do including horse riding, aquatic activities such as windsurfing, sailing, diving and water-skiing, a variety of shops, a casino, nightlife and even a cable car, which takes you to a spot for panoramic views of the bay.

After reading bad reports me and my girlfriend were unsure if we wanted to go ahead or to phone the travel agents and change our hotel. Well we are so glad we never the hotel was great spotless, maybe basic but fantastic for the price great big beds and attention to detail with the house keeping. The staff were friendly and the bar well stocked, there was loads of choice with the buffet food healthy or unhealthy. and the beach bar for snacks and drinks at night was great, handy after all those cocktails. The day trips were great and fairly priced the locals were helpfull and l didnt mind tipping as they had great manners always happy. lve so much more l could say but its worth the visit and we will be going back definetly. |

We stayed at Villas Doradas in October, and had a brilliant holiday. We went for a relaxing holiday, but had the oppertunity to join in activities with the fun team, we had fun just watching. The food was good, with plenty of choices, rooms, basic but clean, and the staff were very friendly. The beach was gorgeous, with the bar just behind, for drinks and food. We would definately go back. Very good value for money. |

Ignore ALL the bad reviews you have read on this holiday destination!!!!! Before leaving I was so concerned I had convinced myself I didn't want to go but I'm SO glad we did. To relax, to laugh, to get involved in all types of activities Dominican Republic is the place to go. Villas Doradas Hotel was clean, inside and out, the staff were friendly and pleasant, the food was good with a variety of choices. The activities by the pool and at the beach were a good laugh and the shows at night always kept you entertained. For the price we got our holiday it was paradise!
A special mention for the entertainment team who work incredibly hard and are friendly and full of fun no matter what time, day or night. Check out the comedy show and beach party!
Dominican people are so kind and friendly and that really made our holiday. Remember it's a poor country where people work hard to make sure you are enjoying yourself so tip well on excursions.
Holiday more for couples and families. Our favourite things to do were the catamaran (book with rep) and the funny bikes/Quads - to see the real dominican. (book on the beach).
We LOVED it and will be going back next year!

I loved Villas Doradas Hotel, fab people, fab culture and certinaly recommened for the girls, this will be my honeymoon destination i think.....going back with friends very soon so will keep you updated. |
